He's almost always around Icarus, usually perched up on his shoulder or in his lap when he can be around. He tends to mimic his owner, ie; tilting his head to one side if Icarus is confused, or hissing at people Icarus is angry with. Icarus also talks to him...a lot. Patronus: Fox (specific species, body type wise- Artic Fox) Boggart: Finding someone he cares about hurt, and realizing that it was all his fault that they ended up that way. More specifically, directly thinking he's harmed a person. Seeing himself hurting someone, that he loves. House: ⇢ Slytherin Year: ⇢ Six Strong Subjects: ⇢ Defense Against the Dark Arts Reason he is good with that? Icarus is stubborn, and if there's anything he wants to be able to do in life, it's fight. It's not really a matter of protection for himself, so much as a matter of making himself stronger. If he's strong, he can get revenge. It's really as simple as that. ⇢ Care of Magical Creatures Icarus hates mankind, be they wizard or muggle. He's just not a people person. Animals, magic or otherwise, however, he actually adores. Icarus is usually the most happy around them, as well as the most comfortable. He's also fascinated with them, so... Weak Subjects: ⇢ Divination The reason he fails this is...to be brutally honest with you, he doesn't care about it. He can't fathom how it would help him out in the long run, and if he doesn't think it'll be worth it he just doesn't put much effort forth for it. ⇢ Herbology Icarus has a hard time wrapping his head around it to be honest with you. A plant is a plant is a plant to him. It's just one of those subjects that goes in one ear and out the other for him...and there's also the lovely fact that when he's bored he's liable to set them on fire. Wandcrafting: ⇢ The wood was chosen because this is the tree his birthday matches in accordance to the Celtic calender (December 22). The core was chosen because the mythical creature in question is known for it's fire, as well as it's ferocity, both things that Icarus often displays. The length is chosen because it's the most comfortable, and the flexibility is a symbolism of how stubborn the idiot can be. ⇢Wood: Elder ⇢Core: ⇢ dragon heartstring ⇢Length: 12'' ⇢Flexibility: Sturdy Personality: ⇢ Icarus is, first and foremost, the type of person that will hold onto a grudge so long that it's incredibly unhealthy. You cross him, and he's likely to never forgive you for it. He's irritable, grumpy, and genuinely has convinced himself that every human being in the world is terrible- -including himself. He's courageous to the point of stupidity, the sort of idiot that would take on about five people at once even if he had absolutely no chance of winning. He won't quit a fight until he's knocked himself unconscious, or can't physically move (or if someone he actually cares about, as unlikely as that may be, is endanger of getting hurt because of said fight). He loves animals, and all magical creatures, and is most comfortable around them. He's fiercely protective of those that he cares about. Also, he has crippling stage-fright. He doesn't deal well being the center of attention, and prefers to stick to himself most of the time. When he ISN'T sticking to himself he's usually snarling at people and making a jerk of himself. He has a slightly narcissistic mindset, and has trouble doing things if they don't benefit him. Surprisingly enough, Icarus has a pretty strong sense of honor. That's actually part of the reason he holds grudges so long. On the flipside of that grudge holding, if he's in debt to someone he WILL pay them back. He'll definitely try to do that as quickly as he possibly can, but he won't want to be indebted to someone for very long. Also, if he gives someone his word, he WILL keep it. HISTORY: ⇢ The first thing to know about Icarus, as it's rather important to his history, is that the father he grew up with was NOT his biological father. He is actually unaware of said fact, but hey, what are you going to do? His mother cheated on his father, and thus little Icarus was created. His 'dad' never cared for Icarus, actually naming him for the myth as a label for his future failures in life. The man was not kind, and if there is a reason for the reason Icarus hates people so much it is probably him. When Icarus was about six years old his mother decided to take him out. It's really a small thing, but to Icarus it's a memory he will never forget. They went out, did things that a mother and child SHOULD do together. It was the best day of his life, he got to look at Diagon Alley and all that fascinating stuff. Though, of course, growing up as a wizard he wasn't quite so wonder filled as some may have been. Just getting out of the house to spend time alone with his mother had been enough for him. At ten years old his father snapped when Icarus wouldn't kill a stray tabby cat kitten. It was the WORST his dad ever acted toward him, though not the first time he acted violently at all. Icarus was hurt enough to have to get medical help to put it a little mildly, and his hatred for his father finally sank into place at that moment. Aspirations: ⇢ To be brutally honest with you, Icarus is more than ready to throw his future away for one thing. That one thing being, of course, the murder of his father. Yes, he wants nothing more than to torture and kill the man that tormented him for so many years of his life. Honestly he probably would throw his mother into it as well, just because she didn't do anything to stop it really. If he WEREN'T to do that though, he'd probably look for a job dealing in Magical Creatures, he hasn't looked into it, but hey, maybe he will in the future? INVENTORY: --Remembrall /-/ Icarus keeps this as more of a symbol than anything. It's his way of convincing himself that he can't forget what happened to him, basically a way for him to cling to his past. Also, it just makes holding grudges that much more...real to him. --Locket /-/ This has a photograph of his mother inside. As much as he'd like to say he DOESN'T he actually loves his mother very much. It's kind of a way to grasp at that, keeping this around with him. --Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans /-/ What? Just because he's a jerk he can't like candy? Besides, they're fun. Kind of exciting, and if you get bored what better way to entertain yourself than by fretting whether the candy you hold tastes like peaches or vomit? Face Claiming: POKEMON, Red, Icarus Bradshaw.
